  • The most significant difference between a Valley and a Diamond table is the pocket size and angle. To mimic Diamond's "pro-cut" pockets, you will need to modify the rail facings. This involves adding custom-cut shims (often made from wood, plastic, or specialized rubber) to the inside edge of the pocket openings, effectively shrinking the pocket "throat" and creating a sharper angle. This makes the table less forgiving and demands greater shot accuracy, similar to a Diamond.

  • Diamond tables are known for their responsive and consistent cushions. To get a similar feel, replace the existing Valley cushions (often K-66 profile) with a high-quality, faster rubber, such as Artemis or professional-grade K-55 cushions, which offer a more lively and predictable bank. We ensure the new cushions are installed perfectly level and glued securely to the rail for optimal performance.

  • A "fast" playing experience is key to the Diamond feel. Replace the existing felt with a high-speed, worsted wool cloth like Simonis 860. This type of cloth has less "nap" or fuzz, allowing the balls to roll faster and more consistently. Finally, we perform a precision-leveling of the slate. Using a machinist's level to ensure the entire playing surface is perfectly flat, we ensure minor variations can’t affect ball roll on such a fast cloth.
